Private Training
Private training sessions are for clients who want one-on-one help with their dog. Clients with young puppies, enthusiastic leash pullers, dogs with mild behavioural issues (reactivity, resource guarding, etc.), and those looking to sharpen their dog's off-leash skills are good candidates for this service. Ari accepts private training clients on a case-by-case basis.
During the first training session with a new client, Ari will gather in-depth information on the dog’s environment, family, home life, breed and genetics, life experiences, daily routine, level of off-leash freedom, and current and past stressors. Ari will ask about the client’s training goals for their dog and provide a rough idea of what a training plan might look like.

From there, Ari works with each client through follow-up training sessions to determine what kind of lifestyle adjustments and/or training exercises will be helpful for the dog. Ari helps all clients ensure their dog's breed-specific, mental, and physical needs are being properly met as they work through the training plan together.

Walk and Train
Roam’s Walk and Train combines private training, off-leash exercise, and decompression activities tailored to your dog's needs. This service is for owners who would like a professional trainer to work with their dog during the day to address specific training areas, and/or owners who need their dog walked during the day but are not eligible for regular walking services due to their dog’s behavioural issues. Walk and Trains are conducted by Ari without the dog's humans present.

Training during a Walk and Train may include but is not limited to, puppy socialization and basic obedience training, loose-leash walking practice, counter-conditioning for reactivity or aggression, muzzle training, focus and engagement skills training, and more. All Walk and Train dogs will be walked alone, with another dog from the same household (provided the additional dog does not also have complex needs), and/or accompanied by Ari’s personal working dog for help with confidence-building and practice around another dog.
If your dog displays behaviour that interferes with the enjoyment and/or safety of the handler or other dogs or humans during a walk (ex. Severe leash pulling or resource guarding, barking or lunging at other dogs or humans across the street, any type of aggression, cowering at busy streets, etc.) this is the only walking service your dog will be eligible for.

$60 per 60-minute walk

Walking
Group Walks

Group walks are for dogs who are friendly with humans and other dogs and could benefit from a longer exercise and socialization period. Group walks often involve off-leash time and socializing with other dogs in designated off-leash areas. All dogs in the group will practice loose-leash walking, recall, name recognition, and other minor obedience training to make their experience as safe and enjoyable as possible. Ari takes a maximum of four (4) client dogs at a time for group walks.
$24 per dog (60 mins)

Solo Walks

Solo walks are available for dogs who are not compatible in a group setting (ex. Senior dogs, dogs who prefer to not socialize, mildly reactive dogs, etc.) or for dogs who may benefit from a shorter walk (ex. puppies, dogs with pain or limited mobility, etc.). Clients may sign up for solo walks if their dog has mild reactivity but they are not interested in training for it, provided the reactivity does not affect the structure of the walk itself. If your dog has behavioural issues that affect Ari or other dogs during the walk (ex. lots of leash pulling, barking at dogs or humans across the street, cowering on busy streets, etc.) you will be referred to Walk and Train services.
$27 (30 mins)

Semi-Private Walks

Semi-private walks are the equivalent of a “solo walk” but for two-dog households. If a client has two dogs but only one of them is in need of special attention, they may still sign up for semi-private walks provided their dogs get along with each other on walks. Semi-private walks are not available for clients with only one dog.
$32 for two dogs (30 mins)

Boarding
Boarding is offered to clients who have friendly, non-reactive dogs. Boarding dogs live alongside Ari’s service dog in their home, accompany them on hikes, errands, playdates with other dogs, trips out of the city to canoe, explore new trails, and/or attend dog trials, and enjoy plenty of off-leash outdoor exercise, decompression time, and training.

Boarding dogs get a lot of exercise and stimulation, and also enjoy "days off". Most days consist of off-leash hikes, decompression time, and training in parks and on various trails. "Rest” days consist of hang-out time in the backyard and/or the home. All dogs are kept in Ari’s home, have access to common spaces when Ari is home, and are crated in the house while Ari is seeing other clients during the day.

Many dogs are not eligible for boarding services. Due to the nature of Ari’s lifestyle (heavily involving other dogs, children, off-leash activities, a working puppy in training, and a good amount of driving), eligibility criteria are in place for the safety and well-being of everyone involved. If your dog does not meet the criteria for either boarding service, Ari may be able to refer you to another trainer.
